We may collect, store and use the following kinds of information to help us administer the Site and the Forum, improve your browsing experience, supply services/goods purchased via the Site, send statements and membership notifications to you, send you our newsletter, and keep the Site and the Forum secure.
- Personal Data: When you register through our Site, we ask for information which includes your name and email address, as well as student information including name, teacher and grade. The student data enables us to accurately match and deliver any purchases (for example yearbook). When you register through our Forum, we ask for your name and email address.
- Purchase Data: When you make a transaction on our Site, we will record information relating to any transactions carried out between you and us on or in relation to this Site, including information relating to any purchases you make of our goods or services. (examples: PTA membership, yearbook, or event ticket purchases)
- We do not store any credit card data (example: credit card number) through our Site.
Anonymous Data: We automatically collect IP addresses and website usage information from you when you visit the site. This information helps us evaluate how our visitors use and navigate the Site or Forum on an aggregate basis, including the number and frequency of visitors to each web page, and the length of their visits. Types of data include geographical location, browser type and version, operating system, referral source, length of visit, page views, and Site/Forum navigation.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. If we learn we have collected or received Personal Data from a child under 13, we will delete that information.
A cookie is a file containing an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that is sent by a web server to a web browser and stored by the browser. The identifier is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. This enables the web server to identify and track the web browser.
The cookies cannot be used to identify you personally and do not store any credit card information.
These cookies may be created when you visit our Site, our Forum, or click on links that we share with you via email or social media.
We may use both “session” cookies and “persistent” cookies on the Site and the Forum. Session cookies will be deleted from your computer when you close your browser. Persistent cookies will remain stored on your computer until deleted, or until they reach a specified expiration date.
You can review and update the personal data you have provided us at through logging into your account or contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can also request that your account and your personal information be deleted at any time by contacting email@example.com.
You may control the receipt of certain types of communications. Some messages are required, such as service-related messages (such as transaction confirmations). Other messages, such as our newsletter, are not required. To opt-out of our newsletter log-in to your account (Go to “My Account”, then “Subscriptions”, then toggle subscription preference to OFF), follow the instructions in each email, or contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Notifications for the Forum may be managed by logging in to your account (Go to “My Account”, then “Settings”, then toggle the notification preference to on or off for each item.) For assistance, contact email@example.com.
The CRS PTA engages with third-party companies (such as web & database hosting, payment processors, and analytics providers) to help us operate our Site and our Forum. These third parties have only limited access to your information, may use your information only to perform these tasks on our behalf, and are obligated to not disclose or use your information for other purposes.
We do not sell or rent member information to telemarketers, mailing list brokers, or any other companies.
The CRS PTA may, however, disclose personal information when required to do so by law or when such action is necessary or appropriate to comply with legal process served on the CRS PTA, to protect and defend the rights or property of the CRS PTA, or to protect the personal safety of users of our Site and our Forum. We reserve the right to contact the appropriate authorities at our discretion when visitors’ activities appear to be illegal or inconsistent with our policies.
The security of your personal information is important to us. We will take reasonable technical and organizational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. Your account information is protected by a password. It is important that you protect against unauthorized access to your account and information by choosing your password carefully and by keeping your password and computer secure, such as by signing out after using the Site or Forum. We will not ask you for your password (except when you log in to the Site or Forum).
Unfortunately, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
The CRS PTA will notify registered users and members of any data breach as soon as practicable and without undue delay after becoming aware of it. Such notification will describe the nature of the Data Breach, the categories and numbers of users concerned, and the categories and numbers of personal data records concerned and describe the measures taken or proposed to be taken to address the data breach.
The Site and the Forum contain links to enable you to visit other websites of interest easily. However, once you have used these links to leave our Site or Forum, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.
The CRS PTA has the right to make changes or additions to this policy at any time. If those changes involve using your personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time you joined, we will notify you by email.
